While views are mixed as to whether or not Christian should help his receding hairline by getting some hair transplants, one thing is certain, he needs to stay away from the Botox injections which are accentuating his forehead and brows, giving him an almost feminine appearance.

New York plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says, “Christian looks like he has had too much Botox – his medial brows are down and his lateral brows appear asymmetric. He may benefit from hair transplantation to help his large forehead and receding hairline.”

While Christian is a talented actor, his face looks nearly frozen into place from his Botox use.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Sherrell J. Aston says, “I suspect the Christian Slater is using heavy doses of Botox to achieve such a frozen appearance. In my opinion he looks a little unnatural and too feminine. I would advise him to give the injectables a rest for a while.”

While Christian may not be as popular as he was back in the 90s, look out for him Lies & Illusions, due out later this year.

Apparently Chow suffers from lids that are droopy enough to require blepharoplasty, eyelid surgery; to help get rid of some of the sagging.  In the interview, he also intimated that he has had the procedure more than once, which is unusual as the first time usually corrects the problem.

Although if Chow has especially droopy eyes, a touch up may be necessary now and then.

Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer says, “It is possible to need a touch up over the years to get rid of extra skin above the eyes (called a Blepharoplasty); however, you must be careful not to overdo it.  You do need some loose skin so you can close your eyes properly.”

The action star looks great and seems to have had good experience with plastic surgery, which may help him consider giving Botox a try, considering the plastic surgery recovery is much more minimal than eyelid surgery.

While 60-year old Olivia’s plastic surgery appears to be fairly natural-looking (See Make Me Heal’s story on Olivia Newton-John’s plastic surgery), the results of her 22-year old daughter’s journey under the knife look decidedly fake.

Chloe is following in her singer/actor mother’s footsteps as she has appeared in various film and television project, including her most recent foray into the public on the reality show Rock the Cradle.

Although Chloe has openly battled the eating disorder anorexia, some parts of her anatomy have gotten curiously larger, rather than smaller, namely her lips and chest.

In addition to darkening her hair color, Chloe’s lips have gotten progressively larger over the years, the result of lip fillers. Because of their perpetually plump state, she likely has collagen injections, or even Gortex implants, which tend to last longer and blow up more than temporary lip fillers like Restylane.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Jennifer Walden says, “It appears from the photos that she may have gotten lip injectibles such as hyaluronic acid, fat grafting or possibly even a permanent treatment such as a Gore-Tex or silicone implant in both upper and lower lips.”

Her face in general is smooth and plump, which could be the result of dermal fillers in her already high cheekbones and even some Botox, which gives her eyes that surprised look, without any crinkling. Fine lines often begin to appear in the 20′s and although Chloe is rather young for Botox, it is becoming more popular with young women seeking to prevent wrinkles.

Dr. Walden tells Make Me Heal, “Her cheeks also look a bit fuller so she may have had soft tissue fillers or even cheek implants.  Chloe is looking more and more unnatural, given her history of body image issues this is someone I would choose not to operate on if further surgery was requested.”

In addition to cheeks and lips, it has been speculated that Chloe has had a rhinoplasty to give her nose that upturned shape and her wide-eyed expression may be the work of a blepharoplasty, not youthful innocence.

Dr. Walden says, “It is also speculated that she may have had rhinoplasty; the photos show a small rather upturned nose for her face so this may be the case. Judging from her wide-eyed, surprised look it seems like she may have had a brow lift and eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty).

The daughter of Grease’s Olivia Newton-John, Chloe Lattanzi has struggled with anorexia and body image issues which I hope she has recovered fully from and wish her well.”

Survey says … Cheryl Tiegs had plastic surgery

Cheryl Tiegs, age 63, made a recent appearance on the “Oprah” show with other aging supermodels. She still insists that she hasn’t had plastic surgery.

Readers of “In Your Face” don’t believe her.

A nonscientific survey of 3,100 readers of  “In Your Face” found that 73 percent believe she has had plastic surgery.

Local cosmetic doctors have come down on both sides of the question.

Dr. Christopher Zachary, chairman of the Department of Dermatology at UC-Irvine, believes Tiegs.

Before-and-after photos of her that seem to show dramatic changes aren’t comparable because of differences in expression and lighting, Zachary said a few years ago.

“These differences, although not obvious to the uncritical eye, are of immense importance,” he said. “In this case, you should absolutely believe her.”

“She looks great,” he concluded.

Plastic surgeon and blogger Dr. John Di Saia of San Clemente and Orange agrees that Tiegs looks good, but he gives credit to plastic surgery.

He wrote this week, “She has always looked good and to look this good in her sixties, a little maintenance has likely been the order of the day. … Quality, timing and moderation reign king here.”

His evaluation is that Tiegs has had multiple surgeries, including one or more face lifts, nose jobs, and perhaps breast implants.

The face of former supermodel Cheryl Tiegs, age 60, is changing as she ages, but she says she hasn’t had plastic surgery.

Local cosmetic physicians are divided about whether Tiegs is telling all.

In a radio interview in Minnesota, where Tiegs was born, she flatly denied that she had altered her face surgically. The denial came in response to a question from radio show host Lori Barghini in March, when Barghini referred to speculation about cosmetic procedures:

“I point-blank asked her on the air and she said no,” Barghini said. “She is afraid of needles and she’s not injecting anything.”

Dr. Christopher Zachary, chairman of the Department of Dermatology at UC-Irvine, believes Tiegs.

Before-and-after photos that seem to show dramatic changes aren’t comparable because of differences in expression and lighting, he says:

Since the seventies … I’d wager she’s had a few rhinoplasties. She has probably also had a face lift or two as her cheeks don’t seem to descend the way they should have over time.

I found a few pics online indicating that she may have had breast implants in the late seventies or early-to-mid-eighties. At that time implants were smaller and easier to hide when a lady wanted to do so. She may have had them removed in more recent times as many women of the time did.

I would advise her to take it easy on any large scale further work. Redos can be more difficult. Skin care and sun avoidance do well for all.

Tiegs says she once tried Botox, but stopped after one set of injections. She told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune in February:

I tried it once, but it made me frown. People said, “What’s the matter, Cheryl, why are you frowning?” I have a skin-care line, Ageless Woman, and I use that.

While explaining how she tried to keep her homosexuality a secret, Chely Wright aid that she encountered open resistance from people in her industry. She told a story about a guy named John Rich, from the country band “Big and Rich,” asking her if she was gay and telling her that it homosexuality was “sick,” “deviant,” and “unacceptable to country fans.” This encounter with Rich was a real turning point for Wright in that it was the first time she lied about her orientation, and it forced her to face the prejudices in her industry.

Pop icon Cher sat in the audience and cried while watching her “son” Chaz Bono dance on ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars” Monday night. Prior to last week’s show, Cher, 65, had tweeted she would be in the audience if Chaz made it through to the next round. That probably explains why Chaz is still in the running.

“At last I’m finally free to be me!” declared the 42-year-old gay rights activist after undergoing a double mastectomy to remove her healthy breasts in 2009.

Chaz finally revealed the results of the operation when “he” removed “his” t-shirt recently. But the operation left pronounced scar tissue under her breasts which are clearly visible.

According to the National Enquirer, Dr. Harold Reed, a leading Miami-based surgeon specializing in transgender operations, who did not treat Chaz, said: “It appears to me Chaz’s doctor did not leave enough breast tissue in the chest to give him a more symmet­rical look.

“He’s quite heavy and his breasts now appear too flat for his body.”

Dr. Reed said Chaz was probably a “C or D cup” prior to the surgery. Chaz also takes male hormones to deepen the voice and grow facial hair.

According to Dr. Reed’s analysis, the surgeon began by removing the nipples and preserving them in saline solution.
