Many viewers remember Christine Lahti best as Dr. Kathryn Austin on the 1990s TV series "Chicago Hope," for which she won an Emmy and Golden Globe.
But with a resume that includes film (Swing Shift, Running on Empty), Broadway (The Heidi Chronicles) and other TV shows, Lahti isn’t content to rest on her laurels.
In recent years, the actress has branched out into directing and even won an Academy Award for her 1995 short film Lieberman in Love.
Now, in her latest guest-starring role, she plays assistant district attorney Sonya Paxton on NBC’s “Law & Order: SVU.”
